Activities:

  • Review OE Quick Guide and Chapter 3 tools.
  • Apply Change Readiness model.
  • Practice DAPIM™ cycle.
  • Complete APSWI e-learning if not previously done.

Coaching Session (1 hour):

  • Discuss tools from OE Handbook and prior modules.
  • Explore strategies for regular performance assessment.
  • Reflection questions:
    • Experience with intensive review processes.
    • Staff reactions to feedback.
    • Strategies to reduce defensiveness and welcome feedback.
  • Wrap-up reflections: strengths, worries, next steps.
  • Coach helps Director identify activities to test new behaviors and plan follow-up.

Segment 2: Human Services Value Curve

Learning Objective:

  • Support and facilitate continuous improvement projects using the Human Services Value Curve framework.

Activities:

  • Review Chapter 4 concepts.
  • Apply Human Services Value Curve to current agency practices.
  • Complete Adaptive Leadership Self-Assessment.

Coaching Session (1 hour):

  • Discuss new concepts and their application to Director’s current assignment.
  • Reflection questions:

    • Strategies to foster openness to feedback.
