Blue Campaign
Blue Campaign is a national public awareness campaign, designed to educate the public, law enforcement and other industry partners to recognize the indicators of human trafficking, and how to appropriately respond to possible cases. Blue Campaign works closely with DHS Components to create general awareness training materials for law enforcement and others to increase detection of human trafficking, and to identify victims.
Faces of Human Trafficking Video Series and Posters
The Office for Victims of Crimes created a 9-part video series intended for the outreach and education efforts of service providers, law enforcement, prosecutors, and others in the community. The series includes information about sex and labor trafficking, multidisciplinary approaches to serving victims of human trafficking, effective victim services, victims’ legal needs, and voices of survivors, and has a specific youth focused version.
Downloadable posters provide the number to the National Human Trafficking Hotline and contain space for organizations to include their own contact information.
Know Your Rights
The U.S. Department of State created an informational pamphlet pursuant to section 202 of the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008, Public Law 110-457. The downloadable material provides information on rights of workers entering the United States regardless of visa status.
Look Beneath the Surface
The US Department of Health and Human Services coordinates this campaign. Through the HHS Look Beneath the Surface (LBS) campaign, they work with grantees and partners to raise awareness of human trafficking and the factors that make certain populations more at risk. The campaign also empowers health care providers and faith-based and community organizations to help identify individuals who may be experiencing trafficking and connect them with services through the National Human Trafficking Hotline.
Not a #Number
Love146 created Not a #Number, an interactive five-lesson human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) prevention curriculum that supports a nuanced approach to reach diverse populations of at-risk youth. This program teaches youth how to recognize recruitment tactics, understand vulnerabilities, and develop skills to safely navigate potential and existing exploitative situations.
The PROTECT Program
The PROTECT Program uses a multi-tiered approach to combat human trafficking by providing comprehensive training and reporting protocols to school staff so that they may implement trauma-informed prevention education to students (K-12) and be prepared for disclosed abuse. The curriculum provides a comprehensive understanding of the dangers, signs and historical roots of human trafficking. The goals are to empower students with a better understanding of individual value, identify victims at the earliest possible stage, and respond appropriately with the services and support victims and those at-risk.
SB 1193 Model Notice
Senate Bill 1193 added Section 52.6 to the Civil Code. The law requires specified businesses and other establishments to post a notice informing the public and victims of human trafficking of telephone hotline numbers to seek help or report unlawful activity. Additional requirements were added with the enactment of SB 225 and AB 260 (2017). SB 225 requires the model notice to provide a specified number that victims can text for services and support, while AB 260 added hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast inns to the list of specified businesses required to post the model notice. Counties may design their own notice, but it must contain information based on the Model Notice provided on the State of California, Department of Justice Website.

The Young Worker Health and Safety Website
The Young Worker Health and Safety Website is a project of the California Partnership for Young Worker Health and Safety a (statewide task force that brings together government agencies and statewide organizations representing educators, employers, parents, job trainers and others) and has a goal to prevent California’s young workers from being injured or killed on the job. The site hosts downloadable materials for teens, teachers, employers, parents and caregivers regarding employment for young workers. The Partnership is funded by the State of California’s Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation and coordinated by the Labor Occupational Health Program, University of California, Berkeley.
