Jess Torres, M.A.

PACT Regional CoordinatorThey/Them

Jess Torres is the Regional Coordinator with the PACT Project, supporting the Bay Area and Southern California regions. Jess has over fifteen years of advocacy experience in the anti-trafficking movement and spent the last 7 years collaborating and building meaningful and impactful relationships with LA County’s CSEC Unit and LA’s system-impacted youth by moving at the speed of trust and centering and investing in the wellbeing, joy, and self-determination of these youth. Using an anti-oppression framework and social justice lens, Jess collaborates with various agencies and US-based/International nonprofits to build diverse anti-trafficking and harm reduction initiatives and programs.  When not working, Jess enjoys sailing, discovering art/music/dance from local artists, learning and preserving Indigenous wisdom through relationships and ceremony with traditional healers, medicine makers, and the community itself. Jess also collects literature from trans, disabled and hood revolutionaries and lives for 2SQTBIPOC Ballroom culture, drag ball culture and the house-ballroom community; the only space that has always provided Jess an unconditionally welcoming family and home.
