Adults Program

Providing quality services to vulnerable adults is an important part of maintaining an equitable Human Services system, and CFPIC is committed to supporting public Human Services agencies in meeting the growing needs of vulnerable adults in California.  Population changes require sharper focus on the needs of older Californians and people with disabilities to make sure they have what they need to be safe and independent.  In partnership with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), the County Welfare Directors Association (CWDA), the Adult Services Training Academy (ASTA) and others, CFPIC is working to strengthen the workforce within Adult Services and bring agencies together to use the power of collaboration to meet the needs of adults.

New Aging & Adult Directors' Development Program (NADDP)

The New Adult and Aging Directors' Development Program (NAADDP) supports newly appointed and recently promoted leaders of California county Aging and Adult Services agencies. Through self-paced learning, guided study, and monthly coaching, participants build knowledge and skills in leadership, fiscal management, policy, compliance, and program operations.

Past Successes

APS Training – Sponsored by the Central California Training Academy, CFPIC worked in partnership with local and regional APS training partners, CDSS, CWDA, NAPSA, and APS agencies across the state to build upon strong local training capacities and enhance the training system across the state. Through this partnership and its resulting “APS Training Blueprint” recommendations, CWDA was successful in advocating for consistent funding to support a more robust and sustainable APS training system that works for all of California’s counties. Download the Blueprint Report

Statewide MDT Convenings - In partnership with the Central/Bay Area Adult Services Training Academy, CFPIC has hosted two Adult Services Multi-Disciplinary Team convenings, gathering human services professionals and partners to exchange knowledge, inspire each other, and collaborate on innovative solutions to better serve older adults.
