Ann began serving as the Director of Sacramento County Department of Human Assistance in 2014.  The Department employs 2000 staff and has a FY 2019-2020 budget of over $634 million.  The Department includes multiple programs serving vulnerable residents such as Economic Assistance, employment services and homeless services.  Ann has 25 years in social services and has served as Director of Health and Human Services and Deputy County Executive in Sacramento County.  She also served for a short time as Director of Health and Social Services in Solano County.

Ann holds a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.  She is also a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  Ann also attended the Harvard Leadership program for executives in public service.

Ann is an active member of the County Welfare Directors Association serving as President, Vice President at Large, Vice President of Services, and co-chair of the child care and CalWORKs committees.  She has also served on the CalWIN Policy Board and has served as co-chair.  She is currently co-chair of the CalSAWS JPA.

Ann is married and has one daughter, a step son, a step daughter and 3 grandsons.
