Lori Medina

Lori Duffel Medina has worked as a professional in public social services for the last 31 years.  Ms. Medina began her career in the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services as a Children’s Social Worker after her Masters of Social Work degree was conferred in 1992.  Ms. Medina worked in Los Angeles County for 10 years, taking on progressively responsible positions including Children’s Social Worker, Supervising Children’s Social Worker, and Assistant Regional Administrator in the Southeast and South Central Regions of the County.  In 2002, Ms. Medina joined Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children’s Services as the Deputy Director of the Children’s Shelter.  Ms. Medina served in Santa Clara County for 14 years, holding the positions of Deputy Director of the Children’s Shelter, Social Services Program Manager III for the Department of Family and Children’s Services, Acting Deputy Director of Family and Children’s Services, and Director of Family and Children’s Services.  The next part of Ms. Medina’s journey brought her back home to the community she grew up in in Monterey County.  Ms. Medina was appointed as the Social Services in Monterey County, over the Family and Children’s Services Branch in 2016.  After 3 ½ years in that capacity, Ms. Medina was appointed as the Social Services Director for Monterey County in 2019, where she continues to serve.

Ms. Medina is a seasoned Social Services leader, bringing experience in numerous programs, policy and training background, and administrative experience.  Ms. Medina has also served on numerous Boards and Commissions over her 30 plus year career.

Personally, Ms. Medina is married with adult two sons.  She is very active in her community and church.
