Prevention in Action: 2026 Convening Highlights and Recordings Now Available

CFPIC is pleased to share a recap of the 2026 Statewide Prevention Convening, held March 18–19, which welcomed more than 900 participants representing every county in California as well as Tribal communities. The strong turnout reflects a growing, statewide commitment to advancing prevention efforts through collaboration and shared learning.

In partnership with Strategies TA and other statewide partners, CFPIC contributed to the planning and implementation of this year’s convening, helping to foster meaningful cross-sector engagement. CFPIC also hosted three workshops highlighting key prevention strategies, including the Linkages Family Needs Screening Tool, the intersection of CalWORKs and prevention, and approaches to strengthening cross-sector collaboration.

Aligned with the theme Prevention in Action, the convening emphasized practical application and elevated diverse perspectives from across systems. CFPIC’s Youth Engagement Project (YEP) Ambassadors played a key role, contributing lived expertise through a foster youth panel. Attendees also heard from Alameda County, which shared insights on its innovative Community Pathway approach.

Recordings of the plenary sessions and workshops are now available and can be accessed on the Strategies TA YouTube channel here.
