Partnership in Prevention Practice: FFPS Town Hall

With more than 100 participants from across California, the FFPS Summer Town Hall, Partnership in Prevention Practice, brought together counties, Tribes, community-based organizations, state partners, individuals with lived expertise, and other system partners to explore how partnership and collaboration are strengthening prevention efforts across the state.

During the Town Hall, participants received updates on California’s Family First Prevention Services (FFPS) Program and learned how communities are working together to build coordinated systems of care that connect families to support earlier. The discussion highlighted the importance of cross-system collaboration, community-based prevention services, Comprehensive Prevention Planning, and shared responsibility in strengthening family well-being.

Attendees also heard from Calaveras County, who shared their local prevention journey and highlighted how partnerships across child welfare, behavioral health, education, and community-based organizations are helping build a more coordinated prevention system that expands access to services and strengthens supports for children, youth, and families.
